Performance und Praxis

Beschreibung

»Praxis« has been a central concept in art and art theory for a long time, and it has taken on a new shade in the context of contemporary performative art forms and process-oriented working methods and artistic research. At the same time, with the practical turn, »praxis« has become a central object of research, and the practical-theoretical has become an important approach and process in the social sciences and cultural studies. This interdisciplinary volume brings together contributions which empirically and theoretically deal with the concept and methodological approach of »praxis« at the intersections of the performing arts and everyday life. Four topics stand at the center of this: the in/stability of praxis, affectivity and praxis, aesthetics and praxis, as well as praxis and the political.
Nichts ist so theoretisch und zugleich so praktisch wie die Praxis – der interdisziplinäre Sammelband bündelt Zugänge zu »Praxis« an der Schnittstelle von performativer Kunst und Sozial- und Kulturwissenschaften.
»Performance« und »Praxis« sind spätestens seit dem practice turn und dem performative turn zentrale Konzepte und Theoriefelder der Kultur- und Sozialwissenschaften. Die in diesem interdisziplinären Sammelband gebündelten Texte betrachten »Performance« und »Praxis« in ihrem Zusammenspiel und untersuchen die Relevanz des Performativen an Phänomenen aus Tanz, Theater, Sport und Alltag. Im Fokus stehen vier Spannungsfelder: Routine und Instabilität, Normativität und Entgrenzung, Transformation und Beständigkeit, Politisches und Ästhetisches.Mit Beiträgen u.a. von Thomas Alkemeyer, Sabine Huschka, Gabriele Klein, Sibylle Peters, Larissa Schindler und Ana Vujanovic.

Gabriele Klein
Gabriele Klein hat seit 2022 die Professur für Ballett und Tanz (»Hans van Manen Chair«) an der Universität Amsterdam/Niederlande inne. Von 2002 bis 2023 war sie Professorin für Soziologie von Bewegung, Tanz und Performance Studies an der Universität Hamburg. Ihre Forschungsschwerpunkte sind Kultur- und Sozialtheorie sowie Geschichte von Körper, Bewegung, Tanz und Performance, zeitgenössische Tanz- und Performancekunst, urbane Bewegungskulturen und populäre Tanzkulturen.
