On the Provision of Airport Infrastructure in Germany

Beschreibung

The heavily criticized subsidization of the German airport infrastructure and related overcapacities are analyzed by means of the theory of market failure. The author argues that the public involvement with the provision of infrastructure can be justifiable, but that federal and state grants for local authorities are the reason for regional overcapacities and should therefore be avoided.
