The principle objective of this thesis is to give a comprehensive overview of the determinants of the composition of private capital flows to EMEs. Two issues are highlighted in this investigation:
• The first aim is to discriminate between the overall investment environment in EMEs and specific corporate decisions when explaining the structure of capital flows.
• The second aim is to search for empirical evidence of the interrelation between the composition of capital flows and country and corporate factors, respectively.
