From April 10th till April 13th 2007, the International Congress on Pure and Applied Differential Geometry PADGE 2007 was held in Brussels, Belgium. This congress was a joint initiative of the K.U.Brussel (Katholieke Universiteit Brussel), the K.U.Leuven (Katholieke Universiteit Leuven) and the EHSAL (European University College Brussels). The congress covered topics in Riemannian geometry, Lorentzian geometry and applications to relativity, submanifolds of Riemannian and Lorentzian spaces and visualization.
This book contains the proceedings of PADGE 2007, more specifically, it contains the papers selected for presentation by means of a lecture or a poster. The selection was done according to international standards by the scientific committee.
From the positive reactions we received during and after the congress, we conclude that we have achieved the goal of creating the optimal conditions for the emergence of new ideas and the exchange of knowledge between researchers in differential geometry. Consequently, this book reflects the current scientific research in differential geometry, especially in the topics mentioned above.
