Messplanung ist komplex und aufwändig. Diese Dissertation schlägt einen Ansatz zur Messplanung vor, der Projektinformationen wiederverwendet. Der Ansatz unterstützt die schnelle und fehlerfreie Entwicklung und Änderung von Messplänen nach dem Goal/Question/Metric Ansatz, die konsistent mit Projekt- und Qualitätssicherungsplänen sind. Der Ansatz besteht aus drei Elementen: einem formalen konzeptuellen Modell für Messpläne erweitert um Informationen aus Projekt- und Qualitätssicherungsplänen, einem Prozessmodell zur Entwicklung und Änderung von Messplänen und einem Werkzeug zur Entwicklung und Änderung von Messplänen. Die verschiedenen Elemente des Ansatzes wurden durch mehrere Fallstudien und ein kontrolliertes Experiment validiert.
Measurement planning is a complex and time-consuming activity. This thesis proposes an approach to measurement planning based on the Goal/Question/Metric approach and reusing project information, i.e., process definitions and quality models. The approach allows developing and modifying measurement plans that are consistent with project information with less effort and defects. The approach consists of a formal conceptual model for measurement plans enriched with project infor-mation, a measurement plan development and modification process, and tools for supporting measurement planning and plan modification. Conceptual model, processes, and tools are validated with respect to effort and defect reduction by case studies and a controlled experiment.
