Rudolf Berliner
Rudolf Berliner (1886-1967) studierte Kunstgeschichte in Wien, Berlin und Heidelberg. Als Chefkurator war wer am Bayerischen Nationalmuseum tätig, bis er 1935 aufgrund seiner jüdischen Herkunft entlassen wurde. 1938 emigierte er in die USA und kehrte erst 1967 wieder nach Deutschland zurück. Berliner verfasste eine Vielzahl bahnbrechender kunsthistorischer Publikationen, darunter den berühmten Katalog der Elfenbeinsammlung des Bayerischen Nationalmuseums sowie das Nachschlagewerk rnamentale Vorlageblätter
