Timber construction has always been a domain of pre-fabrication, with material specifications, design, statics and production practices playing important roles. Wood materials also have a sympathy bonus, making them eminently suitable for creating a humane working environment, thereby increasing productivity, and for corporate design and image communication: issues of vital concern for those involved in trade, industry and management administration. This publication presents projects contributed by international actors such as von Gerkan, Marg+Partner (Germany), Morris-Nunn Associates (Australia) und Turnbull-Griffin-Haesloop (USA), many of which have won awards. Wolfgang Ruske is a specialist on timber construction and ecological building, and author of numerous technical articles and publications.
