The degree of attention accorded to validation of learning outcomes has increased considerably over recent years. The aim of the debate is to develop approaches and procedures to make skilled workers' occupational experience visible and to guarantee better transparency and comparability of qualifications.
This edited volume presents central ideas, objectives, instruments and approaches relating to the recognition of learning outcomes. The papers included highlight this thematic area from the perspective of various countries as well as from a worldwide point of view. The main aspects explored are the firm establishment of approaches adopted in legal and political terms and the issue of the specific recording, evaluation and certification of learning outcomes across a range of academic research, policy and practical contexts.
