Garages offer two-year apprenticeships but then often do not employ these skilled workers. This dissertation investigates the reasons for such inconsistent behaviour using the training of car service mechanics as an example.
The results of this empirical study can also be applied to other two-year apprenticed jobs. The study offers arguments for debate relating on two-year vocational training programs.
