The Chinese artist Cao Fei works at the intersection of art, media, technology, and visions of the future. Through multimedia installations, films, and virtual worlds, she explores how social and technological transformations shape human life, social relations, and collective imaginaries. Published on the occasion of her solo exhibitions at the Kunstmuseum Basel and the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, this artist’s book features a newly commissioned short story by the Chinese science-fiction writer Regina Kanyu Wang, drawings by the artist Yufei, and an extensive image section with photographs and reproductions of works by Cao Fei.
