A documentation of the Norwegian artist’s most ambitious installation to date: an otherworldly universe inhabited by 55 seemingly identical figures.
Sandra Mujinga works across installation, sculpture, video, photography, performance, and music, staging encounters with beings unknown to us, drawing on Afrofuturism, posthumanism, and science fiction to create immersive environments that blend sculpture, sound, and light. The ghostly, hybrid figures in her latest work resist clear interpretation through repetition and abstraction: Skin to Skin invites us to imagine fluid, hybrid, and defiant forms of existence beyond conventional categories – poetic, political, and radically contemporary.
