This dissertation contains three theoretical essays on the topic of bank runs.
This dissertation contains three theoretical essays on the topic of bank runs. The first essay examines the relation between shadow banking and financial stability in an economy in which deposit insurance in the traditional banking sector is limited by a cap. The other two essays analyse how banking contracts can be structured such that investors do not have an incentive to run on a bank.
