This work was Bernard's BA dissertation and took him nearly 300 man hours of straight complaining to complete. While writing the book Bernard never woke up before 11am, yet still found time to whine about how difficult his life is. He often stays in the house for days on end, speaking only to his housemates and cats that wander across the back garden.
