Beschreibung

The thoughts and feelings of a middle aged man who has lost the absolute love of his life, his childhood sweetheart and wife to cancer after her 13 years of treatment and countless operations.
Tells the story of how two childhood sweethearts progressed through courtship, marriage and finally loss. The book is written by the surviving partner as a set of personal poems which capture his love for his wife, provides a view of her as a person, his own emotions, and his thoughts, feelings and sense of loss. Unable to discuss with anyone his desperation he has taken to writing to her directly and reminding her of his love and how he misses her and longs to be with her again. The poems which are but a few he has written are combination of thoughts, feelings and memories and were written over a two and half year period since the death of his beloved Deborah. The idea to present this work as a book was the idea of a very close relative who having read one or two poems thought they could be shared with others in a similar situation. What has happened here in this book happens every day all over the world, the loss of a partner is something every couple must ultimately face but can never be prepared for, the remaining partner is left with the grief and pain. Fifty percent of partners in a dedicated relationship will experience this trauma, the lucky in a partnership are those that go first.
