Bettina Lieblich
Bettina Lieblich, born in 1966, grew up in the Lower Rhine region of Germany. From 2006 to 2011 (until the start of the civil war) she lived in Syria with her daughters. Through her marriage and years of living in Damascus, she is well conversant with Arabic and Islamic culture. After her return from Syria she embarked on a successful literary career. Inspired by her multi-faceted life, she wrote her autobiography which was soon followed by other works.
