This thesis presents a study of carrier transport in LEDs based on the non equilibrium Green’s function (NEGF) method. In particular, carrier-carrier scattering is investigated and a model for its inclusion in LED simulations is implemented. The NEGF formalism is described and single and multi quantum well LEDs are simulated.
