Although the Amendment say precisely that “Congress shall make no law” in these fields the “ink-readicators” claim that it means something quite different. They claim that when it says “Congress shall make no law”, it means “Congress shall make no unreasonable law.” – VANCE PACKARD, THE NAKED SOCIETY: Many of the PRESENT INVASIONS OF OUR PRIVACY ORIGINATE IN THE KINDS OF LIFE THE CITIZENS HAVEN CHOSEN TO PURSUE. ∆ It may seem odd that affluence should undermine privacy. ∆ Consider the problem of launching and moving goods in today’s superabundant economy. ∆ A growth in population and a growth in temptation in a nation increasingly swollen with material goods could help to account for much of the increase in crime. ∆ Our Urban living has played a part in making citizens more fearful of being beset by criminals.
