The Garden of Inner Light for the first time presents a comprehensive selection of works by the Uzbeki painter Shakhnoz Abdullaeva. Since the late 1980s, Abdullaeva has been developing a unique visual language that merges female figures, mythological motifs, and the symbolic world of Central Asia. Her works incorporate elements of Central Asian artistic tradition—such as colorful ceramics, textiles, and miniature paintings—and transforms them into a contemporary symbolic visual world. The publication traces this development with an art historical consideration by Nigora Akhmedova and permits a rare glimpse into painting that fuses the female experience, cultural memory, and spiritual visual poetry to create an inimitable artistic style.
