In the research project The Typology of Adaptability in Building Construction, the Competence Centre for Typology & Planning in Architecture (CCTP) at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences & Arts, Switzerland, has dedicated itself to presenting a clear overview of the complex subject of adaptability in building construction, for both planners and users. What does adaptability mean? What forms can adaptability take? How can adaptability be achieved and what are its determining factors? The research addresses these – and further – questions and presents a practical system to determine the adaptability degree of buildings.
