This book is intended to serve as a companion to SAP® ECC-based lectures covering cost accounting, materials management and production planning/MRP. Throughout the course of the book, students implement a case study in a manufacturing com-pany, covering master data entry and the customization of the system through to the company’s business processes and finally to the operational use of the system.
A host of free, Web-based materials may be used in conjunction with the book which include transparencies for class-room use, trainers for Entity-Relationship Modeling (ERM), Event-Driven Process Chains (EPC), as well as a case study based on the book suitable for independent implementation by students to re-enforce the lessons learnt. This material is available at http://erp.wu-wien.ac.at
The intended audience is students of applied computing science (Wirtschaftsinformatik) or business administration with a focus on business organization or production management. Also practitioners, who want a hands-on “first look” at ERP, notably SAP® ECC software will find this book a must.
