Born in Italy in 1959 and raised in Switzerland, the author is a traveller between worlds: after spending half a lifetime in the restless rhythm of our time, he was drawn to Mauritius, where he transitioned to stillness and weightlessness,dedicating 21 years to scuba diving there. Today, he enjoys an active retirement in Italy as a translator and woodworker. All his life, his motto has been: 'And then, sometimes, when I have the time, I also work a little bit.' Having spent a lifetime studying the many facets of our modern civilization, he now devotes himself to quiet yet probing questions: why is our civilization so deeply entangled in double standards and hypocrisy? Where are we heading if we constantly lie to ourselves?
