The wave of social and political movements that sprang up in various geographical locations in the 2010s gave rise to a series of events that involved the composition, recital, and citation of poetry as an integral part of acts of protest. Taking this observation as a point of departure, the present work examines the interdependent relationship between poetry and the Occupy movements as it manifested in the phenomena in question.
