Beschreibung

This practical reference book describes the context and background for the introduction of the APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) process in accordance with AS EN 9145. It explains the specific processes and methods that support the implementation of APQP. While APQP provides a structured framework, many of its methods, tools, and techniques, such as Process FMEA, have been established in industrial practice for more than 60 years. It also highlights the common thread running through the five phases of the APQP model described in the standard. In particular, the author discusses a distinction between the APQP process for MAKE and BUY. The extremely important and numerous interfaces between the MAKE and BUY paths are highlighted. Examples and tips are also provided for pure production companies that follow externally specified designs (build to print) or companies with their own product-related design activities (build to spec). In addition, special features of the various triggers for the APQP process (NPI – MOD – ToW) are discussed. These practical tips and examples support companies in implementing AS EN 9145 within their product development processes.
