This book is a translation of the original German 2nd edition. The translation was done with the help of an artificial intelligence machine translation tool. A subsequent human revision was done primarily in terms of content, so that the book may read stylistically differently from a conventional translation.
The authors
Gregor Kemper and Fabian Reimers teach and conduct research at the Technical University of Munich. They have taught many courses on the topics covered in this book and have received numerous teaching awards in recognition of their lectures, tutorials, and course design. The book is based on their award-winning course Linear Algebra and Discrete Structures.
