This well-organized and carefully worked out introduction to modern "non-trivial" set theory was first published in 1978 by Academic Press. Since then, the book has become a standard reference which, even after 20 years, is still timely and has no real competitor. For this 2nd edition, a list of corrections and an updated name index has been appended.
