The Council of Nicaea (325) stands as a foundational event in Christian history. Despite the loss of its Acts, its creed and canons continue to shape theology and ecclesial practice. This volume examines the historical context of the Council, its Christological and philosophical debates, and its reception in the Byzantine and Syriac worlds. Bringing together leading scholars, the book offers fresh perspectives on the origins, legacy, and lasting significance of Nicaea. Matteo Poiani (PhD 2023) is a member or the Unit'e de Recherche 4377 of Strasbourg University. His research focuses on Evagrius and Syriac culture. Maurizio Girolami (PhD 2009) is the rector of the Facolta Teologica del Triveneto (Padua). His studies explore the reception of the Bible in Early Christian literature.
