Samuel the Giraffe supports children in understanding emotions and learning how to deal with feelings like joy, anger, fear and sadness in everyday life.
Samuel is a giraffe
and Samuel feels a lot.
Joy that makes his whole body feel light.
Anger that rises hot and powerful inside him.
Fear that tightens and makes his heart beat faster.
Sadness that becomes heavy and needs space.
And so much more.
Samuel experiences his world intensely at home, in kindergarten, and in everyday life.
Sometimes his feelings are very big and loud, sometimes very small and quiet.
But they all have one thing in common:
they want to be seen and felt.
This empathetic picture book supports children in
recognizing their emotions, understanding them, and developing a healthy way of dealing with them.
It shows in a child-friendly way
that all feelings are allowed to exist
and that there are ways to handle them
without suppressing them or taking them out on others.
At the same time this book is also an invitation to adults
to consciously accompany children in their emotional world
and perhaps reconnect with their own feelings as well.
A lovingly designed book for children
and for everyone who accompanies them on their journey.
Chiara Sofia Cabras
Chiara Sofia Cabras has been writing with great joy since childhood, driven by a passion for expressing thoughts, feelings, and stories in a creative way. She works in the educational field with kindergarten-aged children and is currently studying childhood education. In her daily work she experiences how intensely children feel and how important it is to give emotions space, language, and empathetic support. The giraffe Samuel, originally a stuffed animal she brought into kindergarten, has become part of the children’s daily life and supports them in talking about emotions. From this experience her children’s book Samuel the Giraffe was created, with the aim of helping children understand and navigate their emotional world with care and awareness.
