This book is about the neuropathological changes that can be found in the brains of old, but neurologically or psychiatrically healthy, persons and in those with the common neurodegenerative disorders of later life such as Alzheimer's disease or Parkinson's disease. The ways in which these changes are brought about and progress in the brain are described and their causes in relationship to environmental or genetic factors are discussed. The effects of these changes on brain function are covered.
