This book is about immunoglobulins. In particular, it discusses the development of monoclonal antibodies as human therapeutics. It traces the successes and limitations of rodent monoclonal antibodies in the clinic and describes the new techniques of genetic and protein engineering which have been devised to overcome these limitations to human in vivo use.
