Based on the 1st edition, this 2nd edition of Magnetic Resonance Angiography provides a completely revised comprehensive overview of the current state of development in magnetic resonance (MR) vascular imaging. The basic principles and technical features of MR angiography are outlined, consideration being given to both flow-dependent and, in particular, flow-independent contrast-enhanced approaches. Specific chapters focus on image display techniques, blood flow quantification, hardware configurations, and the limitations and artifacts of MR angiography. A newly written chapter, including schematic angiographic drawings of the vascular anatomy, contains information on the physiology and pathophysiology of blood flow, and vascular pathologic anatomy. The well-established approach of providing a clinical overview of MR angiography in different vascular areas has been continued, with the presentation of a large number of representative MR angiograms based on current acquisition techniques. Suitable examination protocols for different vascular regions and lesions are described to facilitate correct application of the technique. Systematic comparison is made with other vascular imaging techniques, and a catalogue of generally accepted indications is included. The two final chapters are devoted to the current state and future of MR-guided intravascular therapeutic procedures and the evaluation of intravascular implants.
In this second, completey revised edition, internationally acknowledged experts discuss the principles and technical aspects of MR angiography, its diverse clinical applications, and its advantages and limitations. A large number of typical MR angiograms are presented, suitable protocols are described, and comparison is made with other vascular imaging techniques.
Completely revised edition Diverse clinical applications (advantages and limitations) are discussed Presentation of a large number of typical MR angiograms Of great value to radiologists, angiologists, vascular surgeons, neurosurgeons, and other physicians involved in vascular imaging Includes supplementary material: sn.pub/extras
