Environmental and industrial process analysis is of fundamental relevance for various tasks in the protection of the environment, as well as for the tracing of processes which are associated with changes in the concentration of chemical substances. In many cases, conventional techniques can not cope with todays requirements of fast, in-situ and online analytical tasks. Laser-based and optical measuring techniques are predestined for these applications. They can work without direct physical contact with the measuring object, feature high measuring frequencies and are suitable for the simultaneous determination of several substances. This book presents an overview of the state of the art in research and development within this field. The results of a German national research program are presented, to which 3 universities, 5 companies and the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft have contributed.
Environmental and industrial process analysis is a key element of environmental protection, tracking changes in the concentration of chemical substances. With conventional methods largely ineffective, laser-based and optical techniques are the solution.
