This volume contains invited and contributed papers, presented at the Workshop on Large-Scale Scientific Computations held on June 7-11, 1997 in Varna.
The topics covered include high performance iterative methods and robust preconditioners, parallel methods for flow computations, adaptive sparse grids, multiscale methods, domain decompositions, preconditioners for parameter dependent and saddle-point problems, structured sparse matrices and numerical simulation of air pollution and contaminant transport.
