The Conference on Photo-Responsive Materials took place 25-29 February 2004 at Kariega Game Reserve, South Africa. It was focused primarily on III-nitrides (GaN, AlGaN, InGaN), SiC, ZnO and other wide gap materials, chalcopyrites such as CuInSe2 for photovoltaic applications, and novel photoresponsive materials including polymers. Materials-related issues within the scope of the conference were crystal growth and epitaxy, characterisation (photoluminescence, DLTS, IR spectroscopy), defect-related studies, processing, and opto-electronic devices (modelling and novel structures).
