Mit dem Modell DRIPS (Drainage-Runoff-Spraydrift Input of Pesticides in Surface Waters) ist jetzt im Rahmen eines Forschungsprojekts des Umweltbundesamtes vom Institut für Ressourcenmanagement der Universität Gießen ein Modellierungs-Werkzeug entwickelt worden. Mit Hilfe von DRIPS können auf nationaler Ebene einzugsgebietsspezifische Anfangskonzentrationen (Predicted Environmental Concentration in surface waters, PECsw) für PSM-Wirkstoffe ermittelt werden. Das Buch veröffentlicht Informationen zum Modell in englischer Sprache. The objective of this study was the development of a Decision Support System (DSS) software tool, termed DRIPS (Drainage-Runoff-Spraydrift Input of Pesticides in Surface Waters) designed to estimate catchment specific PECsw resulting from non-point source inputs of the major pesticides applied on Germany?s arable land. Im Rahmen der Implementierung der EU-Wasserrahmenrichtlinie (WRRL) wird zur Erreichung des angestrebten „guten Gewässerzustandes“ u. a. eine Quantifizierung der Einträge von Pflanzenschutzmitteln (PSM) aus diffusen Quellen verlangt.
