Beschreibung

A fountain whose water shoots across several storeys into the air, gilded columns next to a marble water basin, a convex door that is lacquered in the same shade as the Rolls-Royce of its residents: In the modern upper-class house construction the entrance presents itself as a stage. Here architectural details have been interwoven with innovative and traditional ideas of a mundane lifestyle. Actors on this stage were owners, architects as well as the house itself, whose structural and functional quintessence was already visible in the entrance. Viviane Taubert presents entrances to houses by Mies van der Rohe, Le Corbusier, Adolf Loos, Robert Mallet-Stevens, Amyas Connell, Marcel Leborgne and others.

Viviane Taubert ist wissenschaftliche Volontärin am Landesdenkmalamt Berlin. Sie studierte Kunstgeschichte, Anglistik und Philosophie in Köln und Edinburgh und wurde mit ihrer Arbeit über Eingänge der Moderne an der Universität zu Köln promoviert.
