The main content of this volume is a history in Italian of S. Salvatore monastery in Monte Amiata (southern Tuscany) left uncompleted by its author, Wilhelm Kunze, at his death in 2002. This publication closes the existing gap in the edition of the »Codex Diplomaticus Amiatinus« (Volume I appeared in 1974, Volume II in 1982, and Volume III/2 in 1998).
