Starting from the speculative question of the unity of theoretical and practical reason in Kant, the author systematically interprets and highlights the practical element of aesthetic reflective judgement and the moral significance of aesthetic feeling in Kant's third critique.
With the Copernican shift to the subject of world-constituting experience, Immanuel Kant also radically separated the validity claims of judgements connected with cognition, action and feeling. Just as he separates theoretical reason from practical reason, he also dissolves the traditional connection between the good and the beautiful by grounding moral action in practical reason and aesthetic judgement in reflective judgement. However, critical discussion inevitably leads to reflection on the unity of reason, which opens up the connection between the good and the beautiful in a completely new way. Starting from the speculative question of the unity of theoretical and practical reason, the author opens up the entire field of mutual reflection on aesthetic and moral judgement with the connection between aesthetics and teleological criticism. In a systematic interpretation, the practical element of aesthetic reflective judgement and the moral significance of aesthetic feeling are highlighted.
