The volume assembles a wide variety of research papers on phonetics, phonology, syntax, morphology, semantics, as well as language acquisition, discourse analysis, pragmatics, language contact studies, receptive multilingualism, and sociolinguistics. The 58 articles, written specifically for this collection, give an informative overview of the current topics in the field. All papers have been double blind peer-reviewed; thus, the volume reflects the state of the art of Turkish and Turkic linguistics, though without aspiring to the rank of an encyclopedia.

The authors are linguists and turkologists from various Turkish, European, American, and Japanese universities, adding an extensive geographical spread to the wide scope of analyses.
