Beschreibung

The present map, using data from the mid-1990's, continues the theme of the earlier map 1.2-G4 that was published in 1992 in the same atlas. This update, executed within a relatively short period of time, prove to be useful as the environmental situation in East Europe has dramatically changed since the political turn of 1989/1990. Overall environment contamination has diminished in the areas represented in the map during the first half of the 1990's above all in the transformation states as a result of lower emissions from industry and agriculture.
