This special issue explores the variety of communication systems used by such nocturnal primates as galagos, slow lorises, tarsiers, and lemurs. When most primatologists discuss communication in primates, they primarily focus on vocalizations that are audible to human observers. This special issue demonstrates that nocturnal primates also communicate vocally outside the range of human hearing which is a maximum of 20 khz. Articles also show the detailed information from urine that nocturnal primates use to communicate with one another.
