Benjamin Coleman is fourteen years old when his brother dies as a result of drug abuse. This tragedy makes him join the Special Troops, a law enforcement agency fighting drugs and delinquency. By nature shy and unsure of himself, the highly gifted mathematician becomes the welcome butt for the bully of his class. Driven to his physical and mental limits during the strenuous training, the recruit also gets involved in the internal problems of the Special Troops: a mole within their ranks causes carefully planned operations to fail, and colleagues lose their lives.
