In addition to discussing the philosophical differences between liberalism and conservatism in general, he also deals with the political conflict between liberal and conservative constitutional theory which is caused by antagonistic attitudes of the 'good' social order and the impact of this contrast on the controversy over the constitutionality of same-sex marriages.
