At the center of a conceptual archaeology with historical and systematic intentions is a term: “consensus”, which is also very popular in current debates. The interdisciplinary contributions in this volume deal with the conceptual and theoretical history of a multilingual and multicultural millennium that we usually call the the Middle Ages, and its central contribution to the topic of consensus.
