The German Anti-Money Laundering Act (GwG) regulates the mechanisms for tracing the profits of serious crimes, a central matter in economic criminal law. This commentary sheds light on the act itself, as well as all aspects of the relevant regulations in the German Criminal Code and the Payment Services Supervision Act, already taking into account the implementation of the fifth European Anti-Money Laundering Directive.
