The book compiles papers presented at the International Congress (Vilnius 2015) on Comparative Metropolitan Research and Historical Cultural Transfer Research. They deal with the Baltic states that served metropolitan functions between the 16^th and 18^th centuries: Lübeck, Wismar, Rostock, Stralsund, Greifswald, Stettin, Danzig, Königsberg, Vilnius, Riga, Reval, St. Petersburg, Uppsala, Stockholm, Lund, Malmö, and Copenhagen.
