In 1698, after a 142-year hiatus, the order of friars preachers resumed its activity in what was then upper-Hungarian Kaschau (Košice). With the support of rulers and royal administrators, the Dominicans succeeded in establishing a firm place in the city’s religious social system. The study focuses on the extraordinary pastoral activity conducted by the friars in the parish during the 18th century.
