If we had a clear grasp of existence, it would be no problem for us to understand what it means not to exist. However, existence seems to be fundamental insofar as we cannot conceptually get around it. This raises a challenging question: if non-existence is unthinkable and inexpressible, can we truly understand what we mean by "existence?" This book argues that we can.
