The seventh volume of the most comprehensive documentation of Goethe’s conversations presents for the years 1809–1810 a wealth of precisely dated accounts based on both printed sources (often revised on the basis of the manuscript) and unprinted sources. With regard to Goethe’s contacts with Johannes Falk, it has been possible to draw on previously unknown literary remains that transmit important accounts of conversations.
