Pantano began writing "Ten Million and One Silences" on Thursday, 13 March 1997 – the day of his mother's suicide – and continued working on the text until Saturday, 13 March 2021. The result is an exercise in endurance art/literature as well as an exploration and treatment of, and response to, notions of loss, absence, trauma, and time.
