At age 22 Rohan started art lessons as a therapy by his teacher and artist Riet Mooren. She guided him in transforming the trauma of his youth.
He learned through art on how to translate negative feelings into positive.

Art is for him truly the most sincerest way to express himself.
Expressing himself was for him as forbidden fruit, he was never really allowed to tell about his feelings, his ideas, his dreams....And it took a while to gather enough trust to get here.
His teacher assisted him to find this fine balance between trust and doubt, between locked up in his own mind and freedom of expression, between darkness and light. She was and is a enormous source of inspiration.
Now at age 32, Rohan is on his way to become a professional artist. It takes a lot of courage and energy to get there.
But he wants to get there.
After being nominated a couple of times and winning an award with the art he made, his confidence as an artist is growing and glowing.
He learned: always trust your instincts and start by doing what‘s necessary - then do what‘s possible - and suddenly you are doing the impossible.
A big “thank you” to all the people who believed in him and supported him all the way and brought him from the shadows of the valley to the light of the mountain top.
